Living Proof Straight Spray Keeps My Waves on the Straight and Narrow - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Ever since I asked my stylist to hack a few inches off my wavy hair before this month, I've been wearing it directly pretty much daily (it's a Lloyd Christmas thing). I started looking for hair straightening products sans silicones, scoping beauty aisles and reading labels, and quickly realized that they're few and far between.
Fifty-fifty though I'g not totally confronting using hair products that contain silicone, I observe that with products where they announced way upward high in the list of ingredients, they tend to weigh downwards my hair and somewhen lead to even worse frizz downward the road. Plus, I like to continue my hair guessing by switching upwards my routine.
I found Living Proof's Straight Spray ($29 for a 5.5-oz. bottle) last weekend at Sephora (it'southward exclusive to the store). It'southward a lightweight aerosol styling spray designed to straighten and protect hair from harm without the use of silicones, oils or resins. Instead, it relies on a molecule called PolyfluoroEster, which Living Proof claims prevents h2o from finding its way into the pilus shaft and messing with your straightened 'do.
It's supposed to work on wet or dry pilus, just the directions recommend applying to hair that'southward clean and wet. Simply mist hair evenly for 5-ten seconds holding the bottle 6 inches abroad. Then comb through and style with a blow dryer or flat iron.
I try to keep rut on my hair to a minimum, so what I like to practice is shower at night, and and so allow my hair dry while I slumber. In the forenoon, I'll spray it with Straight Spray, so use my Sedu flat fe to smooth out the waves.
So far then good, although I haven't been able to tell if it does a better job of protecting my hair from rut damage than my upkeep $5 become-to from Tresemme. I think information technology does beat my budget love, though, when information technology comes to straightening prowess and longevity, as it seems to keep my hair straighter for longer periods of fourth dimension, and I don't feel like I take to touch on up with my apartment iron equally often between washes.
I've also noticed that when I let my hair down later I shower with it up in a ponytail, my pilus looks straighter than it usually does when I use other products.
Oh, and the scent? Love. It's like a mix of lavender flowers with sweet tea and mint.
Living Proof Straight Spray is pricey for a hair product, but if you straighten your pilus often and would like a silicone-gratuitous spray, it might be worth the splurge.
PRICE: $29 for a 5.5 oz bottle and $17 for a 1.viii-oz. canteen
AVAILABILITY: Available exclusively at Sephora
